Established in 1997, Asia-Pacific EPR/ESR Society comes into being with the main objective to promote EPR/ESR research and to foster scientific interaction among EPR spectroscopists. It facilitates collaboration and scientific exchange between the world-acclaimed scientists and Asia-Pacific researchers in all aspects of EPR/ESR, ranging from theoretical and experimental advances in CW/Pulsed EPR, high frequency and high field EPR, ENDOR, PEDLOR/DEER, time resolved EPR, FMR, MRI, ODMR to applications in medicine, biology, chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology.
APES Organization
The SOCIETY is for the Asia-Pacific region and is to cover the entire range of disciplines that use EPR.
The objectives of APES are to advance and stimulate knowledge of the principles, recent developments, and applications of Electron Paramagnetic (Spin) Resonance (EPR/ESR) and related techniques; to communicate information and news about EPR and its applications among its members and to serve as a clearing house on EPR among scientists in academia, government, and industry; to encourage appropriate and useful application of EPR in a wide variety of fields including physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, medicine, geology, and other disciplines; and to foster scientific interaction among EPR spectroscopists throughout the Asia-Pacific region and to engage in any lawful activities which further this end.
APES is managed by an elected Council which follows the APES Constitution in its proceedings. The composition of the Council provides for a balanced geographical distribution within the Asia-Pacific region, as well as a proper balance of researchers in different branches of EPR.
